The Wonderfront Festival experience is about so much more than just great live music. It’s about a celebration of the things we love to do in San Diego, that makes up the culture of our laid back lifestyle. That’s why, unlike other festivals that lock you in all day and night, you can come and go through the Wonderfront venues as you please. This allows you to explore more of our exciting city as part of your weekend experience. Here’s some ideas of the fun things to do during your festival weekend.
The Festival will host some amazing San Diego favorite culinary experiences. From local restaurant favorites in our giant food hall, to waterfront dining, to food trucks and street food vendors, we will have it all. And if you want to bounce out for lunch or dinner at any of the great restaurants along the Promenade, Little Italy or in the Gaslamp Quarter, it is all within steps of the gates.
TAP INTO FUN
San Diego is known as the Craft Beer Capital of America. We would be remiss if we didn’t have an amazing lineup of the local’s favorite Craft Beers on tap. Explore new tastes at our giant Craft Beer Village.
November is historically the sunniest month in San Diego. So bring your beachwear, and be ready to play on the water. Rent SUP paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, power boats, sailboats and luxury yachts from our partners at Seaforth Rentals, located right on the Festival Promenade.
ISLANDS IN THE SUN
Ride the oldest wood working Ferry in the United States as it takes you 15 minutes across to the famous Coronado Island, voted one of the Top Ten Most Beautiful Beaches in the United States. The Ferry departs from the Embarcadero Marina Park South every 30 minutes, and from Broadway Port Pier every hour. Dine & Shop on Coronado, relax on the beaches, rent surfboards and bodyboards, or rent road & electric bikes to explore the Island.
We take our fun serious in San Diego (casually speaking of course). Be ready to jump into the festival’s game zone with all kinds of fun. From soccer cano cages, corn hole, washers, spike ball, ping-pong and much more, we have lots of options to keep you playing.
Wonderfront will be transforming part of the the Broadway Port Pier building into a giant Silent Disco nightclub. Get your dance on, will be one giant party that doesn’t wake the neighbors.
The festival will house a giant sports bar with games and multiple video screens showing your favorite sports events throughout the weekend, including college and NFL football. Of course we will be showing the San Diego State at Hawaii game, go Aztecs!
With the festival grounds right on the waterfront of course we have to take the party on the water. Ships are turned into oyster bars and yacht parties for festival guests. Move between the stages on our 400 person water taxi, complete with bars and performers. For additional fun jump on a sunset cruise and enjoy the view on the Harbor.
sip & smile
The San Diego Wine Scene is thriving. So make sure you check out the festival’s wine tasting bar to try some of the region’s favorites.
OF SAN DIEGO
Around the festival grounds you will bump into art installations created by various local artists who will entertain you with their visual creations.

CELEBRATE THE CITY
The San Diego 250 is a celebration marking 2019 as the 250th year of the founding of San Diego. San Diego is ‘Where California Began’ as it is the first city founded in all of California, dating back to July 16, 1769. The San Diego 250 is a year long celebration with many events highlighting our history, our culture, and celebrating our past and our present, with an eye to our future. The celebrations culminate with events at the Wonderfront Festival, including free community stages along the waterfront with live music and entertainers, activations, and more.
