SAN DIEGO – Following months of excitement and mystery since the announcement of the inaugural WONDERFRONT Music & Arts Festival, the highly anticipated lineup has been released to the public.  A Phase 2 unveiling of additional artists will take place later this summer to round out the exciting lineup.

Gracing the 7+ stages, which will be spread out across the downtown waterfront, will be artists including Miguel, Slightly Stoopid, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, MGMT, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Jam, Don Omar, Vince Staples, Tyga, Los Angeles Azules, Tucanes de Tijuana, Walk the Moon, Phantogram, X Ambassadors, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Lil Dicky, Big Gigantic, Pennywise, and many more.  Later this summer a couple big surprises will be announced to join the many great artists across the myriad of genres.

Wonderfront co-founder Paul Thornton states; “Our goal with this lineup was to have it stacked from start to finish each day with great artists. It’s hard to really call any certain bands our so-called headliners as so many lines of bands on this festival are all headliners in their own right.  We’ve had a tough time choosing between so many talented artists across the many genres into the finite number of stage slots available.  We also wanted a great mix of artists across the time slots, so that not all the bigger names were just playing at the same later times.  We really appreciate the artists that have worked with us to make that possible.”

A core mission of the Wonderfront Festival is to showcase the hottest emerging artists, beloved stars, and some local favorites.  The preliminary lineup achieves these goals with over 80 artists descending upon San Diego’s waterfront in late November, creating an exceptional three-day experience at one of the world’s most vibrant festival destinations.

A true San Diego festival wouldn’t be complete without some Punk Rock thrown into the mix.  With the inclusion of the Tony Hawk’s Huckjam Stage Wonderfront will present Pennywise, Suicidal Tendencies, X, Vandals, and DJ Z-Trip.  These are some of the most quintessential bands to be performing next to Tony Hawk’s HuckJam Ramp where Tony and some of the best pro skaters in the world will be performing their amazing tricks.

“I’m excited to bring back the Huckjam format (choreographed and freestyle skating with live music) after 10 years of hiatus, and there is no better place for it than my hometown. Rob Machado and Trevor Hoffman, who, like Tony Hawk, became involved in the festival early on as investors and ambassadors are thrilled with the caliber of the lineup and the mindful approach that was taken to get it to where it is today.

The Wonderfront Festival is a true collaboration at its finest by many of San Diego’s staples in the local music scene.  The Belly Up, Music Box, Casbah and RMD Club Group have all collaborated on the curation of artists to make Wonderfront a truly home-grown festival.
