Tues April 12 – San Diego, CA – The Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival just couldn’t sit on this one any longer. Another big name artist has just been announced to perform on this year’s Wonderfront Festival along the waterfront in downtown San Diego:

Cage the Elephant adds to an extensive big name lineup on San Diego’s best music festival. Wonderfront, which will be spread out across the downtown waterfront, will be hosting major artists including: Zac Brown Band, Kings of Leon, Gwen Stefani, G-Eazy, Young the Giant, Lauren Daigle, Swae Lee, Quinn XCII, Fitz & the Tantrums, Earthgang, Big Boi, Thundercat, SOJA, Noah Cyrus, Cam, Judah & the Lion, Whethan, Trevor Hall, Hippie Sabotage, Two Feet, Skip Marley, Mod Sun, Max, Cheat Codes, Bakermat, Goldfish, Bakar, and many more outstanding artists. Friday March 25 – San Diego, CA – Following two years since the inaugural 2019 WONDERFRONT Music & Arts Festival, the highly anticipated Wonderfront Festival 2022 is returning to San Diego’s downtown waterfront on November 18-20, 2022. The 2020 and 2021 iterations of the festival could not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but Wonderfront is finally back with its 2022 festival and the lineup is packed with big name talent. The 2022 lineup has just been released to the public today. A Phase 2 unveiling of additional artists, including another big headliner and other great names, will take place in May to round out this exciting festival lineup.

Gracing the multiple stages, which will be spread out across the downtown waterfront, will be artists including Zac Brown Band, Kings of Leon, Gwen Stefani, G-Eazy, Young the Giant, Lauren Daigle, Swae Lee, Quinn XCII, Fitz & the Tantrums, Earthgang, Big Boi, Thundercat, SOJA, Noah Cyrus, Cam, Judah & the Lion, Whethan, Trevor Hall, Hippie Sabotage, Two Feet, Skip Marley, Mod Sun, Niko Moon, Max, Bakar, and many more outstanding artists. Later in May more great artists will be announced to join the many artists across the myriad of genres.

Wonderfront co-founder and CEO Paul Thornton states; “Our goal with this 2022 lineup was to still maintain a focus on emerging artists and artists with new music coming out this year, but to also take a significant step forward with bigger headline talent. After the 2019 success we have had so many great artists wanting to play on this year’s lineup, it has been an internal battle with our programming team as to which artists we booked to fill the available stage slots. We also wanted a great mix of artists across the time slots, so that not all the bigger names were just playing at the same later times. We really appreciate the artists that have worked with us to make that possible. There are more great artists to be announced, which we can’t announce until May as some are playing on other large festivals and shows in the Southern California region”.

A core mission of the Wonderfront Festival is to showcase the hottest emerging artists, beloved stars, and some local favorites. As well Wonderfront will strive each year to present a broad range of genres, as evidenced this year with the inclusion of Country music, including Zac Brown Band, Cam, Niko Moon and Myron Elkins. WONDERFRONT Music & Arts Festival 2020 Festival on San Diego Bay Postponed

Thursday May 14, 2020 – San Diego, CA – Building on the success of the inaugural 2019 Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival, the Wonderfront Festival team began designing an even better 2020 event on the San Diego Bay waterfront. Given the COVID-19 pandemic and California’s Public Health Order prohibiting large events and gatherings, the second Wonderfront Festival will have to wait until 2021.

“This announcement greatly saddens us. We held out as long as possible, hoping we would see enough indications that a large-scale festival event in the fall might be a realistic endeavor. However, due to the time and effort it takes to pull off a successful large event of this nature, and signals from Governor Gavin Newsom that events like music festivals aren’t likely to be allowed until 2021, this announcement had to be made now,” said Paul Thornton, Managing Partner of Wonderlust Events, LLC.

“The Port of San Diego proudly supported the 2019 Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival on San Diego Bay for the enjoyment of Californians and visitors to the region. Our events team looks forward to working with Wonderfront when we all are confident that an event of this size and scale can be conducted in a safe environment that meets the State’s and the County of San Diego’s guidelines to protect the health and safety of our community,” said Michael G. Brown, Port of San Diego Vice President of Marketing & Communications.

The Wonderfront team is planning for an even better festival in 2021 that would take Wonderfront to the next level, truly establishing the event as one of the premier festivals in America.

“We are proud of Wonderfront’s launch this past November and the reaction received from fans and artists alike who loved our iconic festival setting right on the water in beautiful downtown San Diego. We have been working hard on some big surprises to be incorporated into the next Wonderfront Festival, so stay tuned for 2021 as it promises to be an epic event, and worth the wait,” continued Paul Thornton.

BUT THERE IS STILL GOOD NEWS. The Wonderfront team is still committed to bringing San Diego something special this fall. Wonderfront’s goal has always been to make showcasing the best emerging talent a cornerstone of the brand. The Wonderfront team plans to work within the health and safety guidelines to bring San Diego some inspiring showcases. “We will work with government officials over the next several months to develop and adapt an upcoming event that will ensure the health and safety of our fellow San Diegans.
